Membership Categories & Fees
The following are the AFOA membership categories and fees (See Note 1):
Membership Categories
Regular |
For individuals who have an interest in Aboriginal finance and management and do not fit into other categories.

Student
|
For individuals who are enrolled full-time in high school or post-secondary education. Please attach proof of student status with your application and annually at time of membership renewal.

Retired
|
For individuals with current AFOA membership who have permanently retired from the work force and are not gainfully employed in any capacity.
|
Elder
|
For individuals who are recognized as Elders within the Aboriginal community. A letter from the Elder’s community is required.
|
CAFM/CAPA
|
For individuals who have received the Certified Aboriginal Financial Management (CAFM) and/or Certified Aboriginal Profession Administrator (CAPA) designation.

Note 1:
A condition of membership in AFOA Canada requires that all applicants join the AFOA Chapter located in the applicant's region, where one exists. Chapters are currently operating in Alberta, Atlantic, British Columbia, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan. Chapter dues vary and are based on level of services provided.

Members are invoiced once annually at calendar year-end for both Chapter and National membership fees.
Where a Chapter does not exist, the National membership fee of $150 applies.
