NEW! Human Resources Management Essentials: Module 5 – Drug and Alcohol Policies - SOLD OUT
Module 5 addresses how to develop and implement drug and alcohol policies that takes into consideration the impact of the new Cannabis Act, recent court decisions and updates to the Canada Labour Code that come into effect in September 2019. It will help participants to assess and update their existing Drug and Alcohol policies based on existing human rights, employment and privacy legislation. It also provides participants with information on how to communicate with supervisors and employees about updated policies, how to define safety-sensitive positions that may be subject to drug-testing, and how to identify potential impairment. The workshop ends with a discussion on the importance of documenting critical incidents and accommodating employees.

Understanding the Fundamentals of Procurement and Contracting
With a core foundation of fairness and transparency, procurement processes are increasingly under the public and legal microscope. This one-day workshop will provide you with a general understanding of the procurement process, applicable principles, and practical solutions to common issues seen in different procurement contexts. The learning objectives are
intended to build the necessary knowledge and skills of those working in
Governance roles. Upon completion of this one-day workshop, participants
will be well-versed on the roles, responsibilities and functions of the Treasurer;
the Finance Committee; and the Audit Committee. Participants will also
have gained an understanding on how to read financial statements (financial
literacy).
