AFOA Canada currently has three awards open to applications:

MNP-AFOA Canada Indigenous Community Excellence Award

Tla-o-qui-aht Accepting their Excellence Award at the national conference

Recognizes an Indigenous community that has demonstrated significant change through governance, leadership and management excellence. A task not easily accomplished but has been undertaken by an entire community to propel change for its members.

AFOA Canada Leadership Award

Recognizing Leadership and Achievement in Indigenous Management, Finance, and Governance. Do you know an Indigenous Professional who has made a significant contribution to your community or organization? Do you want to recognize and acknowledge the level of commitment that this outstanding individual has shown? Nominate them for the AFOA Canada Indigenous Leadership Award sponsored by TD Bank.

Nutrien Indigenous Youth Financial Management Awards

Open to Indigenous students in Grades 11 and 12 who are planning to pursue post-secondary education in programs related to finance, management, business, commerce and related fields. Recipients attend AFOA Canada’s National Conference and participate in a special Youth program designed to introduce youth to careers in Indigenous finance and management, and they become eligible for a scholarship of up to $5,000.

All awards have a deadline of Friday, November 3, 2023.
