Indigenous Financial Wellness is the continuous process of balancing income, saving, investing and spending to achieve one’s life goals (physical, emotional, mental and spiritual) over the life cycle, and to maintain a state of wellness for individuals, family and community.

AFOA Canada delivers free, virtual two-day tax clinic training sessions to teach members of a community or organization to prepare tax returns for community members (Elders, students, and families) to access federal and provincial benefits.

AFOA Canada members volunteer to support Indigenous community members by delivering a tax clinic through Canada Revenue Agency’s (CRA) online platform. Tax clinics offer eligible individuals help filing their income tax returns. Individuals can access the clinic for help completing their taxes or volunteer to help others file.

A suite of financial literacy workshops for Indigenous youth consisting of three modules at elementary, middle and high school levels.

The learning module is designed for beginner and intermediate Indigenous learners who have or will receive a lump sum payment. The module aims to teach Indigenous learners how to control their day-to-day finances, have enough of a cushion to handle most financial emergencies and how to remove debt.

AFOA Canada’s podcast discussing various topics that address Indigenous Financial Wellness with Experts. Financial literacy can be complicated. Money Smarts makes it simple and will enlighten and assist Indigenous community members in understanding their finances and improving their financial wellbeing.
