RECIPIENT OF INAUGURAL INDIGENOUS LEADERSHIP AWARD
OTTAWA, Feb. 24, 2023 – AFOA Canada is pleased to announce Chief Elwood Zastre of Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation as the inaugural recipient of the AFOA Canada Indigenous Leadership Award, sponsored by TD Bank.
The Indigenous Leadership Award recognizes leadership and achievement in Indigenous management, finance, and governance. It is awarded to an individual who has shown a long-term commitment to excellence, has made significant contributions to the management, finance, and governance fields, has had a measurable impact on the performance of an Indigenous community or organization, and has raised the standards of Indigenous management, finance, and governance practices.
Chief Zastre was presented the award at a ceremony during AFOA Canada’s National Conference in Ottawa, Ont.
