AFOA Canada is seeking proposals from professionals across Canada for the development of an IT Workshop Series. There are currently three Request for Proposals open:

SECURITY / INFORMATION PROTECTION

The objective of this contract is to develop the workshop materials for the new Security / Information Protection workshop. The course is intended to be for individuals with responsibility for IT, in Indigenous communities, who do not have formal training from a college or university program. The workshop will present an overview of the knowledge required to ensure adequate technical and organizational safeguards to protect the continuity of IT infrastructure services. A high-level review of IT security principles, methods, practices, policies, and tools used in securing IT resources will be presented.

DISASTER RECOVERY AND BUSINESS CONTINUITY PLANNING WORKSHOP

The objective of this contract is to develop the workshop materials for the new Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning two-day workshop. The course is intended to be for individuals with responsibility for IT, in Indigenous communities, who do not have formal training from a college or university program. The workshop introduces the fundamentals behind how an organization should plan for disasters and how to recover from such unforeseen events quickly.

IT CAPACITY MANAGEMENT AND USER SUPPORT

The objective of this contract is to develop the workshop materials for the new IT Capacity Management and User Support workshop. The course is intended to be for individuals with responsibility for IT, in Indigenous communities, who do not have formal training from a college or university program. The workshop will discuss the concept of the Capacity Manager, who is responsible for ensuring that services and infrastructure can deliver the agreed capacity and performance targets in a cost-effective and timely manner. It will also discuss at a high level how to provide end-user support to ensure IT is used in the most efficient way in the organization.
