AFOA CANADA ANNOUNCES 2025 RECIPIENT OF INDIGENOUS COMMUNITY EXCELLENCE AWARD

OTTAWA, Ont., Feb. 20 – AFOA Canada is pleased to announce Pheasant Rump Nakota First Nation as the recipient of the 2025 MNP-AFOA Canada Indigenous Community Excellence Award. It recognizes an Indigenous community that has demonstrated significant change through governance, leadership, and management excellence.
“As Indigenous people, our greatest sacrifice and greatest honour is to be of service to our people, our community, and our Nation! In whatever capacity or role we find ourselves in, whether it is as a child, youth, parent, resident, or as an elder, elected leader, or staff member, we lend ourselves and our efforts to the greater good,” says Chief Ira McArthur, Pheasant Rump Nakota First Nation.
